Collar, Leash and Harness Care

Keep Your New Product Looking Beautiful

Quality walking accessories are an investment in your pet that make a statement. Ensure your accessories age beautifully, by following our dog collar, leash and harness care recommendations.

  • Make sure the accessories you choose suit your dog’s personality and lifestyle. Owning and using more than one type of collar, harness or leash makes your accessories last longer
  • Clean and polish hardware occasionally and use a pet-safe lubricant spray to keep leash clips moving freely
  • Regular cleaning keeps accessories looking good
Leather dog collar & leash care

Keep your leather in top condition by avoiding water exposure. If your collar or leash get wet accidentally, lay flat and dry naturally. Avoid direct sunlight or heat.

Clean leather by wiping with a damp cloth periodically. Only use leather protectant products designed for your specific leather. Take care with any harsh chemicals around your pets.

Dyed and painted leathers can transfer colour and fade over time. This is normal for any leather product, so minimise exposure to water and moisture.

Fabric dog collar, leash and harness care

Minimise water exposure where possible unless the item has been listed as safe for water exposure on our website.

Spot cleaning, or an occasional light hand wash with mild detergent is the best way to keep your fabric accessories looking great. Lay flat and dry naturally. Avoid direct sunlight to keep colours vibrant.

Waterproof dog collar and leash care

No product is 100% protected against continued exposure to salt water. Rinse collars, harnesses and leashes after exposure to salt water to increase longevity.

Always remove a waterproof collar from a wet dog to protect their skin and allow the product to dry after use in water.

Maintaining dog collar, leash and harness hardware

Leash clips can become stiff over time. Spray a very small amount of a pet friendly lubricant spray into the clip and depress the button a few times to work the lubricant into the clip.

Occasionally polish hardware with a lint free cloth to keep it shining.
