When purchasing products from Animal Outfitters Limited (“we”, “us”, “our”) or using this website, the purchaser (the "Customer", "you", "your"), agrees to the following terms and conditions (the "Terms"). The terms shall be governed by and shall be construed in accordance with the applicable laws of New Zealand. Click on the relevant heading to expand.
General disclaimerAnimal Outfitters Limited would like to welcome you to this website, we have worked hard to make it as user-friendly and informative as possible. When viewing the pages of this website, you acknowledge that you have read and accepted the following disclaimer. The information on this website is provided "as is" and for general information only. Animal Outfitters Limited has provided this information for the benefit of users in good faith and with reasonable care. However, errors and omissions in this website and the information on it may occur from time to time and Animal Outfitters Limited does not guarantee that the website will always operate or be error free. Accordingly, to the maximum extent permitted by law, Animal Outfitters Limited does not accept any liability for the use of or inability to use this site, or for any loss or damage which may directly or indirectly result from any opinion, information, advice, representation or omission contained on this web site.
Consumer Protection and other LegislationWhere the provisions of the Fair Trading Act 1986 and the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or any mandatory legislation in your jurisdiction that cannot legally be excluded applies, these terms will be read subject to the application of that legislation. In the case of any conflict, the provisions of that legislation will apply.
Prices, Payment and Title
Prices will be displayed in either New Zealand Dollars or a foreigh currency, depending on your location and computer settings. The New Zealand price will include GST at the prevailing rate (currently 15%). For shipments outside New Zealand, GST is not payable and will be deducted from the price when an overseas address is selected at checkout.
For international orders, goods will be dispatched from our base in New Zealand and must be cleared by local customs as they enter your country. Depending on your location and the value of your order further taxes, customs duties/fees, or other import costs might be payable. Your local customs service will contact you to arrange payment of these amounts. These costs are the sole responsibility of the purchaser.
Available payment methods will be presented at the time of purchase. Animal Outfitters Limited retains title in the products purchased until we receive payment in full. For out-of-stock items, before orders are accepted from you and placed on back-order, we may require full or part payment upfront.
All prices are correct at time of publication. However, we reserve the right to alter prices from time to time. Where we make a change to our prices, you will pay the price you accepted at the time of placing your order. This price is confirmed in the email notifications you receive from us once your order is placed.
Shipping charges, timeframes and other details are shown under shipping information.
You will receive email notification when your order has been dispatched. If your order does not arrive, contact us quoting the order number contained in your dispatch notification.
If an order is not received because Animal Outfitters incorrectly addressed the order, then Animal Outfitters shall be responsible for the re-delivery, replacement or refunding of the product. If the Customer is found to have given an incorrect or insufficient address, then Animal Outfitters will not refund or resend the product and all responsibility for correcting delivery will be borne by the Customer. Furthermore if you choose not to sign on delivery (NZ only), Animal Outfitters is not responsible for any items that go missing after they have been delivered to the nominated address.
By purchasing a leather product you understand the following:
1. Due to leather's natural surface, slight variations across the hide in grain, tone and fold are normal and may be evident on leather products
2. Water will degrade leather's natural oils and appearance over time, with saltwater harsher than freshwater. If your dog swims regularly we recommend you remove their collar first. If that's impractical then remove it afterwards, wipe clean, and dry the item away from heat to avoid cracking.
3. No leather is 100% colourfast and there is a chance the leather will bleed slightly after getting very wet - if this happens, remove the collar and allow it to dry naturally.
Refunds & ExchangesAnimal Outfitters Limited has a 21 day money back guarantee or exchange on all products purchased providing the following conditions are met;
- the product has not been used
- the customer emails us using our contact form to request a return which is acknowledged and approved by us
- the product is returned with original packaging and price tags
- the product is returned in saleable condition
- the product is received by Animal Outfitters Limited no later than 21 days after the date of the dispatch note included with the original product shipment.
The customer retains title in the product until it is receipted by Animal Outfitters Limited and deemed to meet the guarantee conditions above. The customer is liable for shipping costs associated with returning the product to Animal Outfitters Limited, and any damage or loss in transit.
Where a product exchange is not possible through stock unavailability, an alternative will be suggested, or a refund will be offered. Where a product is returned for exchange, the cost for return shipping will be chargeable to the customer.
A refund under the 21 day money back guarantee will be given for the full purchase price of the product as per the customer dispatch notice. Shipping costs are not refunded.
Periodically we will discount products regarded as seconds which have slight imperfections. The nature of the imperfection will be explained in detail on the product description. Our standard refund and exchange policy does not apply to these seconds so please choose carefully.
Faulty GoodsCustomers can claim a refund or exchange for faulty goods within six months of the date of purchase by using our contact form. Each faulty goods claim is assessed individually, and the damaged product may be sent to our manufacturers for review. Goods are not considered faulty in certain circumstances that include, but are not limited to;
- normal wear and tear
- instances where the product has been used inappropriately - refer to our section "Product Disclosure"
- where care instructions have not been followed
- where the customer has purchased a product unsuitable for their pet
- where there are minor imperfections in the product as a result of hand-crafted manufacture
- where the customer no longer wants the product, but falls outside our 21 day money-back guarantee.
Where Animal Outfitters Limited agrees that the product is faulty and the claim is approved, the customer will be offered a refund or product exchange, and shipping costs incurred by the customer to return the product to Animal Outfitters Limited will be reimbursed with proof of postage. The shipping costs associated with sending replacement product will be paid by Animal Outfitters Limited.
Order CancellationAnimal Outfitters Limited reserves the right to cancel orders for any reason or to cancel the purchase agreement after order confirmation, including (without limitation) where Animal Outfitters Limited believes the order to be fraudulent or constitute a mis-use of a promotional or marketing activity or where an error has occurred including but not limited to errors relating to pricing.If we do cancel your order or purchase agreement, we accept no liability for any resulting damages or costs suffered by you, however we will refund the purchase price to you where it has already been paid. Please refer to Refunds and Exchanges above for details about how you can cancel your product order once received. This does not affect your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993.
PromotionsPromotional offers on this website are only valid for so long as they are displayed, unless expressly stated otherwise in promotional communications from us. We reserve the right to remove a promotional offer at any time without notice.
CommunicationsBy submitting your details when making a purchase at our online store you consent to receiving electronic communications from Animal Outfitters Limited about your orders with us. This may include, but is not limited to, order confirmation emails, dispatch notices or personalised contact by phone or email where necessary to fulfil your order.
By creating an account or signing up to receive our newsletter you agree to receive promotional and marketing information from Animal Outfitters Limited from time to time. You can opt out of receiving promotional material at any time by selecting the unsubscribe link on these emails.

Limitation of LiabilityAnimal Outfitters Limited shall not be liable to the Customer for any incidental, indirect, special or consequential damages arising out of or in connection with the purchase, use or performance of products or services from Animal Outfitters Limited, even if Animal Outfitters Limited has been advised of their possibility. In no case shall Animal Outfitters Limited’s maximum liability exceed the cost of the relevant original order.
Security - paymentsProducts displayed on the site shopping areas can be purchased using secure online Mastercard and Visa transaction facilities or by internet bank transfer. Customers can be assured that all of their details are protected by the latest security mechanisms and are used only for purposes of the transaction fulfillment.
Customers paying by debit / credit card will be re-directed to a secure Hosted Payment page solution from either of our card payment processors (PayPal or Swipe HQ). Both partners comply with global Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI PTS 3.x). Data is SSL encrypted and securely transferred to our McAfee monitored secure servers. PCI PTS, the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard is a set of security requirements relating to the protection of card holder data. The standard is governed by the PCI Security Standards Council, an organisation put together by most of the major card schemes VISA, MasterCard, American Express, JCB and Discover. It’s relevant for any entity that stores or transmits sensitive card holder data, that being generally things like the PAN (card number), Card security code, track data, PIN block.
